Santa Fe's Hard Water Problem
Those white, cloudy deposits on your glass aren't permanent — in most cases we can remove them completely. Don't replace your windows yet. Call us first.
Can It Be Fixed?
Under 1 year of mineral buildup. Usually from recent sprinkler exposure or a few cycles of rain and hard water. One treatment, done in a single visit. Glass comes back to like-new.
1–3 years of buildup, possibly with some surface etching beginning. One to two treatments. Most cases fully resolved. We'll give you an honest assessment before starting.
3+ years of buildup, etched into the glass coating. Removal is possible but may not achieve 100% clarity — depends on glass type and etching depth. We'll tell you upfront what to expect.
Why Santa Fe Is Different
Santa Fe's water supply comes from mountain snowmelt that passes through layers of limestone and calcium-rich rock. By the time it reaches your home, it's loaded with dissolved minerals — especially calcium carbonate.
In our dry, high-altitude climate, water evaporates almost instantly. When it does, it leaves those minerals on your glass as white, crystalline deposits. Over time they harden, bond to the glass, and become impossible to remove with regular cleaning products.
We inspect every window and give you an honest evaluation of what's achievable before we start. No surprises.
We apply a pH-balanced mineral treatment specifically designed for calcium carbonate deposits on glass. It dissolves the bond without scratching or damaging coatings.
Gentle agitation with professional-grade pads, followed by a pure water rinse that removes the dissolved minerals completely.
Optional hydrophobic glass coating that causes future water to bead and run off — significantly slowing re-buildup.
We won't use harsh acid treatments that damage glass coatings, and we won't tell you we can fix something we can't. If we assess your windows and believe they're beyond restoration, we'll tell you that — and recommend replacement where appropriate. Honest assessments are free.
